Shirley of Scotland, who collected, joined, and backed the many squares of the Pratchgan, including my two little squares (the pink in the top right-hand corner, and this one also, which is on the left-hand side, further down than the text, and is based on the Seamstress Guild coat of arms.
Just wanted to share Shirley's post though, 'cause seeing this thing next to Terry Pratchett is pretty awesome.Current Mood: bouncy Current Music: bnl - light up my room

Okay, so who went and made a movie after Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising without telling me, and then released it last month when I wasn't looking?
Seriously.
And of course, it will be a few months before I can put it on the Amazon list.
Not happy. And... who told them they could make more Stephen King movies? The Mist? That's the best he or you guys (Hollywood) can do?
Definitely excited about Prince Caspian next year though. And Sweeney Todd soon.
But frick frick frick frick frick on that "The Seeker: The Dark is Rising" bit!!!Current Mood: aggravated

Okay, so yeah, I didn't want to get into Pushing Daisies too much, but...
Last week's episode was cute. And this week... My hottie Benvolio was on, and they sang "Little Birdhouse in Your Soul."
So how can I not like this show?

Here are a few of the groups I'm in on Ravelry (knitting site still in beta testing):
Football-along (knitting during football, or knitting football-related stuff) 8-bits and knits (gaming knitters) Knitting through grad school LSU Knitters The 20 Spot (20-somethings who knit) Beer and Fiber Group
Yep, beer and fiber group. And you know they're decent when the first pic you see in there is that Sea Dog Bluepaw Wild Blueberry Wheat Ale.
My kind of people.

| » Got tha hookup |
So yeah:
1 visit to Tampa + lots of gaming fun + free A/C: Wild Wild West = major purchase decision.
Not that we weren't getting a DS anyway, but it agitated the urge.
So last weekend we got: 1 DS Lite Onyx 1 c. Pokémon Pearl 1 c. Magical Starshine 1 c. Harvest Moon (which shouldn't make me sick, and hopefully won't piss me off) 1 DS travel case.
And then Kenny went and got himself: 1 DS Lite White (whatever they call that color) 1 c. Pokémon Diamond
So we are now hooked up and ready to play. I haven't figured out friends codes yet, but if anyone is still A/C'ing it, feel free to leave a comment so I can know if figuring out a code for that game is worth my time ;)

Yeah, someone would probably scoff at me posting this. Or think that I'm already planning to go.

yeah, i'm done, and i'm late posting this.
one grade so far.
course:
CPLT 7120, Dr. McGee, "Politics of the Real: Marx, Nietzsche, Badiou"
perhaps my grade should have been "b" because I don't think I'm quite up on Marx, Nietzsche, or Badiou, although I would like to argue some philosophy on whether or not they oppose God or just organized religion.
but, alas.
(read here: "because i am so proud of my ability to bs, you are now inundated with grades")
participation - 90 (one or two sick days, and maybe a day where i had no clue) first response - 86 (missed Marx's sarcasm in das kapital) second response - 94 (what? we were wondering how to get an a...) final term paper - 93 (i say again, what?!)
so I have a 91.8 A (score!)

Thank goodness, no airline cancellation fees.

| » An ode to growing older |
This morning I decided to delete an old yahoo account, which included my (rather old) poetry site. We're talking crap from 2000 here, basically.
And the best things were: a) a poem from my high school English teacher, b) stuff I wrote for college credit, and c) a few backgrounds (yep, images).
This also coupled by the realization that I was probably, at the time, in severe denial that my relationship with obviously-now-ex-boyfriend was going absolutely nowhere.
I'm going to spare you and not provide examples of what I, at the time, must have thought was witty lyricism... (because I was obviously wrong).
